WPD Officer recognized for a “nice piece of police work”
When Waterford Patrolman Andrew Farrior came to work on October 20, 2009 for the evening shift he didn’t think that during his shift he would be tracking down a missing 17 year old across 3 states. His police work started in Connecticut then New Jersey and finally Florida, where he located the missing person. Patrolman Farrior used many resources, from EZ-Pass, cellular phone tracking and GPS coordinates to locate the missing person finally in Florida. Patrolman Farrior contacted Sheriff’s deputies in Florida and using GPS coordinates they located the missing person and confirmed the she was OK. From start to finish, Patrolman Farrior located the missing person within 5 hours of it being reported to the Waterford Police Department. In a letter written by Lieutenant Nixon to the Chief of Police Murray Pendleton, “Officer Farrior is a great credit to the Waterford Police Department and the community he serves”.
Patrolman Farrior has been with the Waterford Police Department since August 2005 and was previously employed by the Colchester Police Department.
