The Waterford Police Department, New London Police Department, Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) and the Statewide Narcotics Task Force worked together Friday in a joint narcotics investigation in New London and Waterford.  The joint effort resulted in the arrest of a Waterford man at the New London Mall. Carter Blythe, 31, of 38 Old Mill Road in Quaker Hill was found at the mall in possession of cocaine.  A search-and-seizure warrant executed at his residence found cocaine, a shotgun, ammunition, a stun gun and body armor. New London Police charged Blythe with possession of cocaine with intent to sell, possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana. He was also served with an outstanding arrest warrant for two counts of sale of cocaine.  New London Police seized the cocaine and a vehicle at the scene of the arrest. Waterford Police also seized a vehicle at Blythe’s residence.  The operation was the result of a several-months-long investigation into drug trafficking in New London and Waterford.  The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.
