Re: Executive Board Elections/Negotiating Team Elections
Dear Member:
As a result of the change from your prior union to UPSEU/COPS, we will now conduct Elections for an Executive Board and Negotiating Committee.
Executive Board
1. The term of office for Officers shall run for one year and commence on the same day they are elected. Your Executive Board may consist of a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Stewards.
Nominations of interested candidates for the Executive Board must be submitted directly to UPSEU via email to Bresnick {at} upseu(.)org or by fax; 860-669-2439 and received no later than 5:00 p.m. Friday August 13, 2010.
- Candidates may only run for one office.
- Balloting will be conducted in a manner and at times and places to be determined.
- The ballots will be opened and counted at a special meeting. Candidates shall have the right to be present at the counting of the ballots.
- If there is only one nominee for a specific office, the nominee shall be deemed elected.
Contract Negotiating Team
- The Contract Negotiating Team should consist of the President, Vice-President, and an odd number of members not to exceed seven;
- The election shall be held on the same day as the Executive Board election;
- Nominations and elections will occur the same way as above.
If the membership wishes to continue to have the current elected officers remain in position until January 2012 rather than conduct a new election, please indicate same in a an email by August 13, 2010 and those officers shall be deemed re-elected.
Fraternally yours,
Barbara J. Resnick
